The 2020 FAST Global Virtual Summit & mini-Gala, Virtually Unstoppable, will be a truly incredible virtual experience that you will not want to miss! As in prior years, the annual event will feature a science summit with updates on the latest Angelman syndrome (AS) research and clinical trials, AS specific educational workshops that give caregivers, therapists, and teachers valuable tools to help their loved one with AS achieve their greatest potential, and helpful vendors who provide AS families the goods and services they need. The two-day event will conclude with a rocking mini-gala featuring music from 7th Heaven Band, a video from Colin and the opportunity for you to hang out with your friends in a virtual Hyatt Regency Chicago environment. One hundred percent of the money raised at the gala will fund AS research!

This year, thanks to the Summit and Gala being virtual, our FAST communities all over the world will be joining together simultaneously to watch the events. To accommodate our non-English speakers, Friday’s Science Summit will be subtitled in French, Italian and Spanish.

This year’s FAST Science Summit will be filled with incredible updates to the community on the newest FAST Funded research programs as well as the latest AS news from multiple pharmaceutical companies on their drug development programs. For AS parents this is truly one of the most encouraging and hopeful days of the year!

The educational workshops provide parents, caregivers, therapists and educators with information and knowledge about services that can help improve the quality of life for individuals with Angelman syndrome – and those who care for them. This year, the summit topics will vary, providing a holistic approach. Sessions will feature Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Behavioral Specialists, and more! Topics will include communication, sensory integration, toileting, sleep, and preventing caregiver burnout (a topic particularly relevant this year).

This is where you’ll be able to connect with your FAST friends to celebrate the many advancements toward a cure for AS and the exhilarating hope that brings to all of us.
